Project Custom Fields has been released in app and one of the field types you can create is a date picker which should allow you to track custom dates on projects and series as needed!

Xenon grey Piranha not with this initial release but I have requested it- you can also submit it as a separate ticket request so the team knows it's actual users who are requesting it, not just me ;)
